Psalm 133:01&03b (NKJV)
01Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! 03…For there the Lord commanded the blessing— Life forevermore.
Marriage is an institution that was authored by God Himself in the beginning. His Authorship is very key for success of every union for whatsoever is born of Him overcomes the world (1 John 05:04a). Every successful marriage must realize that the aspect of unity between a man and his wife cannot be ignored. There ought to be such harmony and integration between them that anyone seeing them or listening to them, even in separate occasions where the other may not be present, can tell that they are one. As a matter of fact, the Lord desires that a man and wife have the same kind of unity that Christ has with the Church. It is one where the Church is completely like Christ and anyone that needs to see and hear God just needs to come in contact with the Church.
From our lead verse, we pick that it is at that place of living in unity/harmony/oneness that the Lord commands the blessing, that is, life ever more. Some of the lifeless things that are happening in our homes is as a result of the disunity between the man and the wife. Spouses are not united in how they think, speak, view life, operate their affairs among so many others and yet they expect to have a very peaceful marriage. I wish to submit it to you that until the man and wife are united in their marriage, then there will be a lot of lifeless situations. Please realize that the unity here is not just a physical one, but it springs up from united spirits (the real you) then flows to other areas of your life. Hallelujah!
The Lord desires and orchestrated that you enjoy life forever more in your marriage. The challenge is to the husband and wife to walk united to enjoy all the Lord had already intended for the family unit. Praise the Lord!
Dear Lord, I am grateful for the truths learnt today. I thank You that where there is unity You command the blessing that is life evermore. I thank You that I am a doer of the Word and I actualize this in my life now and in the future. Be praised forever.
