Proverbs 31 is widely used to make reference to the kind of

woman the Lord desires every lady to be. Our lead verse

today, though referring to this woman, has a great lesson

that cuts across both the ladies and men.

James 03:05 (NKJV) referring to the tongue “Even so the

tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how

great a forest a little fire kindles!” goes to show just how

much damage this small part of the body can cause. No

wonder the writer of this proverb would urge us to only open

our mouths with skillful and Godly wisdom. We should only

speak when we have something worthwhile to say and our

words are sensible. Grace ought to be ministered to each of

our hearers.

Beloved, kindness ought to rule our mouths. Whatever we

are saying, even an instruction to our juniors, subordinates,

employees, including our house technicians, ought to be

governed with kindness. Proverbs 31:26b (NLT) renders “…

she gives instructions with kindness.”

It is possible to tame our tongues regardless of the situation.

What comes out of our mouths should agree with what we

believe in and our new nature in Christ. Open your mouth

with wisdom today and every day. Let the law of kindness

govern your mouth. Hallelujah!

James 03:11(NKJV) Does a spring send forth fresh [water]

and bitter from the same opening?

I will be careful with my words from this day on.

I will be apply skillful and Godly wisdom in my

speech and I will allow my words to come out with

kindness so as to edify and minister grace to every

of my listeners.
