Colossians 03:01-02 (TLB) ,Since you became alive again, so to speak, when Christ arose from the dead, now SET YOUR SIGHTS on the RICH TREASURES and JOYS of HEAVEN where He sits beside God in the place of honor and power. Let HEAVEN FILL YOUR THOUGHTS; don’t spend your time worrying about things down here.
Psalm 16:11b (NKKV) says “…in Your presence there is fullness of joy at Your right hand are pleasures forever more.” This introduces us to what we experience in God; fullness of joy and pleasures forever more. We are not just they that have joy but the fullness of it! Yes, the whole portion! Further to this, we enjoy pleasures forevermore AND not momentarily but forever.
The same is affirmed in our lead verse as the Spirit of God calls the Saint to focus on the treasures and joys of heaven; He asks us to let heaven fill our thoughts. Think about this!
It is sad that at times the Saint gets entangled in civilian affairs forgetting they are soldiers in the army of the Lord and in this place they are to only focus on the treasures and joys of heaven.
Beloved, when others are filled with thoughts of distress, despair, poverty, lack, luck and all things negative, that should not be what fills your thoughts. Only think of the treasures, pleasures and joys of heaven.
Remember as a man thinketh in His heart, so is he (Proverbs 23:07a). Think therefore of success, victory, prosperity, good health, favour and growth in all dimensions and watch your life overflow only with such. Focus in the joys and pleasures of heaven that have become your realities in the now as you are in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 04:08 (MSG), Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious–the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse.
When others are filled with thoughts of distress, despair, poverty, lack and all things negative, that should not be what fills your thoughts. Only think of the treasures, pleasures and joys of heaven.
Heaven fills my thoughts. I meditate on the pleasures and joys of heaven that are my present day reality and I have no room for anything negative. There is nothing but victory and joy on my mind. As I think, I become. Hallelujah!
