Matthew 07:24 (MSG)
These Words I speak to you are not incidental additions to your life, homeowner improvements to your standard of living. They are foundational words, words to build a life on. If you work these words into your life, you are like a smart carpenter who built his house on solid rock.
The Lord speaking to His disciples in John 06:63b tells them that the words He speaks are Spirit and Life. That ought to be the mind we receive the words from God with; they are life, they do not only give life, they are actually life itself. Selah!
Today’s lead verse sheds further light on these words and what they mean to the Saint. It says they are not incidental additions, neither are they homeowner improvements. In other words the Words or Sayings of God do not just come to add value to something already existing. No way! The Words are the foundation, they are what anything in life is built on. Hallelujah!
The Saint of God is therefore not to take the Words of God lightly, instead, they are to value, cherish and be given to always hearing them with an understanding that these Words are their life and are what any life, ministry, home, career should be built on. The Scripture further likens one who works these words into their life with a builder that builds on the solid rock. Any building built on this can never in anyway be brought down.
Matthew 07:24-25 (AMPC), So everyone who hears these Words of Mine and acts upon them [obeying them] will be like a sensible (prudent, practical, wise) man who built his house upon the rock. And the rain fell and the floods came and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.
“The Words or Sayings of God do not just come to add value to something already existing. No way! The Words are the foundation, they are what anything in life is built on.”
Any life built on the Words of Christ, can never in anyway be brought down.
