James 01:25 (NKJV)
But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.
The Word of God is the perfect law of liberty. Not only is it perfect but it also entirely liberates. Praise the Lord! What one needs when they are bound or held down by anything is the Word of God. What this means for the saint is that as long as they are looking at the word, then they are experiencing and enjoying liberty.
Why is it then that believers look like they are free on certain areas and not on other areas? It is because they have not opened up to the perfect law of liberty in those areas and are therefore not in any way receiving liberty. Also, there are those that are liberated for a short duration of time from certain issues but then they slowly seem to slip back into them.
Our lead verse explains a vital truth for every believer to live by. It is not just enough to look. The power is in continuing in the Word. Hallelujah! Meaning you do not look into Scripture once and get satisfied. You pick a truth, scream about it but continue to look into Scripture to know more about the truth and live by it. Believers want to be too quick to look and move on. The secret to total liberation is in the continuous looking.
Beloved, you must look and continue in the same. You ponder on the truths, you go over them repeatedly and allow them to settle completely in your spirit. Continue in the Word all days!
2 Timothy 03:14 (NKJV), But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them.
“You do not look into Scripture once and get satisfied, you pick a truth, scream about it but continue to look into Scripture to know more about the truth and to live by it.”
CALL TO ACTION:
I will be given to constant study of Scripture, I will look at them and continue to look.
